starting from the one post should not be a problem for orb. orb prefers to run from off the pace. if orb was a speed horse or one that preferred to lay just off the pace and didn’t break well from the one post he could potentially be pinched back and the jockey might be forced to hustle his mount closer to the pace going into the first turn using up valuable energy to get back into the race. however as a come from behind horse orb can save ground on the rail and with only a 9 horse field shouldn’t have a problem with traffic as the race goes on. orb looks like the class of the field and i would think win the preakness with itsmyluckyday second. only 7 horses who have not run in the derby have won the preakness in the last 50 years and one of those ran the day before the derby.
