Juniors Brionna Jones, Shatori Walker-Kimbrough and redshirt senior Brene Moseley of the fifth-ranked Maryland women’s basketball team (27-3, 16-2 B1G) garnered All-Big Ten honors Monday.
Jones and Walker-Kimbrough were selected to the All-Big Ten First Team by both the league’s head coaches and media panel. Moseley was voted the Sixth Player of the Year and to the All-Big Ten Second Team by the head coaches. She earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors from the media panel. Walker-Kimbrough was also named to the five-player All-Big Ten Defensive Team.

I continually repeat myself about Brionna Jones when I talk or write about her fundamental play in the low post. There’s a reason Jones leads the country in field goal percentage at nearly 68 percent. People who get caught ball watching only see her catch the pass (she has great hands) and make a layup. They miss how hard she works to clear space, make herself available to receive a pass and puts herself in a position so she rarely needs more that a single dribble to get her shot up.
Congratulations to Shatori Walker-Kimbrough who came to College Park as a player with great athletic ability but limited basketball skills for having turned herself into one of the most dangerous players in the game.
And to Brene “Bones” Moseley who has twice recovered from ACL tears, for accepting the role of the sixth player (though many think she should be the regular starter) and finishes her time as a Terp with the best season of her career.
