Former Florida defensive back J.C. Jackson is planning to enroll at Maryland and will arrive on campus this week, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.
The late addition of Jackson, who was once considered a top prospect in the class of 2014, bolsters Maryland’s secondary ahead of the start of fall camp in early August. It also provides Jackson, who is immediately eligible, with a second chance at the Division I level after legal problems nearly derailed his career in 2015.
Maryland athletic department officials did not immediately confirm the report Sunday evening. Maryland Coach DJ Durkin is expected to meet with reporters during Big Ten media days Tuesday in Chicago.
