It was bound to happen. The Terps had been perfect on the road this year until tonight. Everything was missing tonight in losing to a 13-12 Penn State team.
Maryland always has had trouble playing conference games in half empty buildings on the road. I think back to traveling to Miami several times and playing in front of 3500 fans at the U. Penn State shot 2-18 from the 3 line, was outrebouded 39-37, yet still won. That speaks volumes about Maryland’s effort.
An off game from Anthony Cowan (0-5 from the field) forced Brantley to play 23 minutes but outside of a late trey did not have a good game.
Melo was 4-13 but in his defense was smothered by the Penn State d.
PSU just outplayed the Terps and wanted it more. Disappointing but it’s just 1 game.

Maryland returns to action when it welcomes Ohio State on Saturday at 4 p.m. at XFINITY Center. The game will be shown live on ESPN. The University of Maryland will honor legendary head coach Lefty Driesell by hanging his banner in the rafters in a pregame ceremony prior to the Terps’ game against the Buckeyes.
