Around the Horn

A Win For The Ages—Jordan Spieth captures The Open Championship in stunning fashion. Yes Jordan is the Champion Golfer of the Year. His finish of birdie, eagle, birdie, birdie, —5 under for holes 14-17 will go down as one the most amazing clutch closes ever. Hopefully, the stench of the 2016 Masters collapse will be wiped from his giolf thoughts. With 3 majors and 11 tour wins—he is clearly the best golfer in the world regardless of the rankings. But yes my heart goes out to Matt Kuchar. Hopefully, he will get his major victory soon.

Perhaps the solution to the O’s problems lie in producing MORE runs. It seems as if there is a need to score 9 runs for a strong chance of victory. With a little more speed and a few higher average hitters sprinkled in, maybe the offense would improve. Britton got his 55th straight save today. Jonathan Schoop is the REAL DEAL.

The Women’s USA World Cup team eased to a 10-5 win over England and captured the Championship.

Scott Blumstein from Jersey won the WSOP Titla and 8.1 million by flopping a deuce on the river for a pair of deuces.

Clint Dempsey came in late in the game for Team USA and contributed a goal and an assist to catapult USA into the finals of the Concacaf Championships against Jamaica, a surprise winner over Mexico.

Still shocked over Kyrie Irving’s request to be traded away from LeBron and the Cavs.
