COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Head coach John Tillman has announced the University of Maryland men’s lacrosse team’s 2020 schedule ahead of the program’s 95th season today.
This season’s non-conference schedule features marque matchups with defending National Champion Virginia, Final Four participant Penn and NCAA quarterfinalist Notre Dame – all of which will be played at Maryland Stadium.
“I’m incredibly excited to start our 2020 journey with this year’s team,” said Tillman. “Week in and week out, we will be challenged by some of the nation’s best teams, and our home schedule will provide exciting matchups for our passionate fanbase.”
In all, the Terrapins will matchup with six teams that advanced to last season’s NCAA Tournament teams in 2020, while 10 opponents finished in the top-20 of the final RPI ratings.
UMD was tabbed fourth in the country via both the Inside Lacrosse and U.S. Lacrosse Magazine top-25 rankings announced Tuesday.
Maryland returns five of its top-six point scorers from the team’s 2019 campaign which saw the Terrapins finish 12-5 while reaching the program’s sixth consecutive NCAA Quarterfinal.
The Terps return four 2019 USILA All-Americans in senior Jared Bernhardt (1st Team), junior Bubba Fairman (3rd Team), redshirt junior Logan Wisnauskas (HM) and junior Anthony DeMaio (HM) while welcoming one of the nation’s top ranked recruiting classes via Inside Lacrosse.
Game times and game dates for Big Ten games will be released at a later date. Times and dates of all games are subject to change based on TV designations. Season ticket information will also be released at a later date.
