Just a Hunch–Don’t Be Shocked if Pietramala Joins Belichick and the Patriots

5 Reasons why I believe this will be an option:

#1 Belichick has shown a propensity of hiring Lax players and Coaches to his staff. Chris Mattes was a great part of the 2017 Terps NCAA Title team as he coached the face off squad into holding their own against 3 of the best face off guys in Lax history–Td Ierlan (Albany), Trevor Baptiste (Denver) and Jake Withers (Ohio State). The title game was in Foxboro and a few days later, Belichick hired Chris in the player development dept.

Chris Hogan was brought to the team after his career with Penn State lacrosse. Mike Pelligrino, now the Corner back Coach played LSM for Hopkins. Belichick’s 2 sons Stephen (Rutgers) and Brian (Trinity) joined the staff after their lax careers.

#2 Because of the pandemic, it is doubtful that there will be any coaching vacancies for the 2021 season. Petro could expand his horizons and enhance his resume with a stint with New England.

#3 Dave could be a great help with new talent especially overseeing special teams and the like. One of lacrosse’s greatest defenseman ever, how long would it take Dave to be an asset on the play of inside linebackers.

#4 Belichick and Petro are very close friends. Belichick has tremendous respect for Dave and rarely misses any major Hopkins game.

#5 The fit would be perfect and I am sure Petro would be an asset to any organization he joins.
