Some final abbreviated observations as I am blogging from my cell phone due to the loss of electric:
Turgeon was extremely happy post game as he said he highly respected the opponent
Shaq clearly arrived last night finishing with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 3 gargantuan blocks
Len again was dominant with 7 rebounds, 3 blocks and several altered shots. An Nba scout was sitting directly behind me focused on Alex
Nick Faust led all Terps with a dozen points
Remember this–Kentucky is probably the toughest team we will face all year. They got all of our effort but certainly none of our shooting. The Terps finished at 33% from the field. Any normal kind of shooting night and we would have wiped the floor with Noels and the bunch. for whatever reason we were content to let Kyle … Read More »
There is nothing left to say except let’s get it on. Tonight we witness the birth of a new Maryland era of Basketball. Finally the Terps got a break with the ruling from the NCAA on Dez. No this game is not a predictor of how the season will go. Though stacked with the best recruits in the country, Kentucky’s team is just getting used to knowing each other
Nerlens Noel is a force to be reckoned with. how the … Read More »
This is utterly fantastic news and immediately changes the 2012-2013 Landscape of Terrapin Basketball. Now I am counting the seconds until Frday’s matchup with the Evil Empire (Kentucky).
Much more analysis tonight.
Roddy Peters, the four-star recruit from Suitland who committed to Maryland on Tuesday, had a pretty good coach to learn from this past spring and summer while playing for D.C. Assault. Former Wizards coach Eddie Jordan, a former point guard himself, helped coach Peters on the local AAU powerhouse and believes the Terps made out well for themselves.
“He’s a terrific passer, a willing passer, who’s great in the open court,” Jordan said Wednesday from Los Angeles, where he is now an assistant with … Read More »
I can’t stress enough how big the commitment from Roddy Peters means to this program. Here was Maryland in an apparent dog eat dog battle with the Evil Empire (Kentucky) and coming in 2nd place. But the program was strong enough to land one of the top 5 point guards in the country and furthermore a DC Assault alum in 6″4 Roddy Peters. Who was the competition—Georgetown, Xavier, Kansas and UCLA. With Turgeon at the helm Georgetown must be prepared to … Read More »
Yes, this could be the big news every Terrapin Basketball has been waiting for. Turge and Dalonte Hill had an in home visit with the Suitland PG Monday night. The final decision is between Georgetown, Xavier, Rutgers, and Maryland. Kansas and UCLA had been in the mix but have vanished. Many (including Mike Ricklen) have thought that Peters was the more rational selection for the Terps, but that is … Read More »
Listen, if the Harrisons decide on Maryland, the Terps will have achieved their greatest recruiting moment in its basketball history. Bino and Turgeon have been relentless, daring to be great, wanting to bring in the 2 kids who can possibly bring a another National Tile to Maryland. They have fought the great fight against Calipari and the … Read More »
