Not much to say. Stogs hot hand kept the game in hand. I will never understand why the Terps have so much trouble in Virginia. I am not going to dwell on this effort. Turgeon was disgusted as the game slipped away.
Here’s the situation. 4 games left in conference with the one in Carolina a very difficult situation. The other 3 are winnable including the rematch with the Hoos on March 3. But it’s one play at a time … Read More »
All the shots that haven’t gone in this year seemed to find the net s early on as Terrell Stoglin led a barrage of 3s early on to catapult Maryland into huge lead it never relinquished.
Berend Weijs earned the starting nod tonight as Turgeon said that his incredibly hard practice pace earned him they slot. But James Padgett was thereby motivated coming off the bench to score 15 and grab 8 rebounds. Alex Len finished with 9 bounds and … Read More »
Boston College comes into Thursday’s game 8-17 overall, 3-8 in the Atlantic Coast Conference and 0-6 on the road this season. The Eagles have lost seven of the last eight, with the lone win in that stretch coming over Florida State last Wednesday. Matt Humphrey, a 6-foot-5 junior guard, leads the team in scoring with 10.4 ppg, and has attempted a team-high 139 3-pointers, connecting on 43 of them (.309). No team in the conference has attempted more threes than BC … Read More »
Early in the year we new every victory for the Terps would be hard fought and require unmatched effort. Over the next 9 days Maryland will face BC, UVA, Miami , and Georgia Tech. The loss of PeShon has really hurt this team but as Coach Turgeon said Saturday at Duke –no opponent will feel sorry for us. Any win will come at the cost of tremendous effort for 40 minutes. More about what to look for against BC tomorrow … Read More »
Better late then never. Ernie has deserved this honor ever since he graduated. He was an integral part of the growth of the Terrapins program. Ernie is best known for holding the single game scoring record for Maryland at 44 points. The ceremony begins at 8:40 on Thursday night and there are still a few tickets remaining. Congrats Ernie!!!!!!!
Minutes before the start of what will could be a tough day for the Terps
No empties today but the students were a little late getting here compared to previous years
Not crazy about the new Duke unis–can barely be read
Good start for the Terps at the 16 minute mark–a pan key jumper, strong D—looks like a double team or more on Stogs all day–Duke looks to be in a little malaise—7-3
Miles Plumlee–22 Rebounds —Padge Pankey, … Read More »
What the heck was the discussion that Terrell “might” be an All ACC 1st team selection. If not there is no justice. Stogs was simply stupendous scoring 27 on 9-11 shooting including 4 threes. Coach Turgeon could find no fault with his star tonight. Wake up Jay Williams–Terrell is 5 times better then you said. Can we ever get a gammon the tube without a Dookie on the broadcast team?
When the Terps were up 54-38, didn’t you just know … Read More »
Scoreboard Seth. Seth doesn’t know how to lose or win. 3 years ago during the Augustus Gilchrist debacle, Seth did a dance in front of the Maryland bench after a victory at College Park.
This is what he said after the Terps win saturday:
“Stoglin, he plays for both teams,” Greenberg said after Stoglin scored 28 points on 9 of 21 shooting. “The guy made tough, tough shots, but he also [took] some shots that gave us a … Read More »
The Terps are 13-7 and 3-3 in the conference–not bad
Coach Turgeon Post Game:“I thought we were great defensively. The first 20 minutes we really prepared well. I think in the last eight days we’ve gotten so much better as a team. A lot of it is preparation; I think we really guarded their sets well. In the second half they spread us and we weren’t quite as good, but we were still pretty good in that stretch. I thought … Read More »
