Some observations of a shaky 10th victory tonight:

Sean Mosley took the bull by the horns tonight and refused to let the Terps lose. Loose ball after loose ball, key defensive stops by #14 saved the day for Maryland. Sean led the Terps win 19 points tonight. I just hope he can continue to play so well when the team struggles.

Alex Len made 2 key buckets down the stretch but what I really liked was how Alex never takes … Read More »

As the 2nd half begun the Terps lapsed into a letargy of play. Coach Turgeon substituted his 4 guys on the bench–left in PeShon–result a 10-0 run led by Nick Faust. It is great to see the City College star playing where he should be and his responsed today is a 10 point game so far, including 3-3 from beyond the arc.

It’s been a pretty lacklustre second half as the Terps maintain a healthy lead. The Terps have thoroughly … Read More »

Just watching the presence of this team, everything is different. This is a new work in progress and the result when Turgeon weaves it into a cohesive unit should please Terrapin nation.

However, the defense is somewhat porous. WAIT A MINUTE—OMG–a flying dunk by Alex of a pass by PeShon. Samford  is scoring on dribble penetrations, back doors and easy layups.

Stogs has 3 threes and 15 points. Let’s understand–without his offense the Terps will be hurting. Padgett lays in … Read More »

Maryland has told former basketball players Ernest Graham and Johnny Rhodes that they will soon join 16 other Terps whose names and numbers appear on banners hanging from the Comcast Center rafters.

Maryland does not retire basketball numbers. Instead, the school hangs mock jerseys from the roof and holds ceremonies for players. The latest to be cited was guard Greivis Vasquez last February, joining Juan Dixon, Len Bias, Steve Francis and other former Terps stars.

14 points — 4 Dunks — 8 Rebounds in his first game as a Terp must make the biggest skeptic happy. This is now a different team. By the way the Terps won 83-72 and as usual they somewhat struggled against an inferior opponent but got the job done.

Stoglin had 22 points on 6 threes and Nick Faust provided some key buckets finishing with 10 points.

But the real story of the game is that PeShon and Len are … Read More »

The Terps start the 2nd half with the lineup I expect might be their usual—Stogs, PeShon, Padgett, Faust and Mosley.

Watching Turgeon as Radford stays in the hunt, he is cool, obviously upset but holding it back. Terrell seems to be taking over some of the ball control in the half court. The threes have stopped falling for Radford but the score is still even at the first break. I have a bit of an empty feeling in the stomach.

Two minutes into the first half with the Terps struggling offensively, PeShon has entered the game. Ashton Pankey is off to another good start using his physical presence to dominate the inside. The Terps trail however 12-8 at the first break.

PeShon hits his first shot a pull up 3 pointer to give the Terps their first lead. The Terps look a little out of sorts struggling to get decent opportunities. At the second break the Terps trail by 3 … Read More »

I am sure that his minutes will be limited at first but rest assured when he is back to full strength, Maryland will be a far superior team with Pe at the point. Nick will be able to return to the wing, where he is comfortable. the defense has been there for Nick but now the offense will return. Anxiously awaiting 8 PM. I will blog during the game.

Maryland Basketball

I have been shouting about how lucky we are to have landed Coach Turgeon. Now watch the legend himself, Larry Brown talk about the new Terrapin Bball coach.

Maryland Basketball

It’s painfully obvious that Terrell is being effected buy the ankle injury. He has 8 points but most are from the line. The Terps trail at halftime 34-27 after being down by 11.
The points have to come from somewhere else tonight or the Terps will not win
Sean must be more aggressive shooting and scoring for the Terps to win.

Some telling 1st half stats– Terps 9-25 and 0-2 from the field
Terps 20-11 on the … Read More »
