Terps freshman Stefon Diggs was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week after his performance in Saturday’s 31-21 loss to West Virginia, the league announced Monday.

Maryland quarterback Perry Hills has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week for his play in the Terrapins’ 36-27 win over Temple, the league announced Monday. Hills went 11 of 21 for 190 yards, two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown in the victory. He led Maryland to a 23-point second quarter by hitting Matt Furstenburg for a 22-yard touchdown, Marcus Leak for a 32-yard score and then running 11 yards for a touchdown.

Temple really beat down Maryland last year in what at the time was a fairly surprising result (38-7) to me at the time. Temple only threw 9 times all day and nearly ran the ball for 300 yards and they were able to dominate Maryland physically up front.
