Terps freshman Stefon Diggs was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week after his performance in Saturday’s 31-21 loss to West Virginia, the league announced Monday.

Diggs had three catches for 113 yards and two touchdowns, as well as 63 kickoff return yards and 25 punt return yards, in the defeat. With 201 all-purpose yards, it marked the second straight game that Diggs went over 200 all-purpose yards. The Gaithersburg native scored on … Read More »

Some comments on an overall good day at Morgantown:

Okay we lost but remember this was the #8 team in the country. To me it was unbelievable that Tavon Austin was able to catch 13 passes for 179 yards and 3 TDs. He has to be just an incredible talent because to do this when the whole world knows … Read More »

“We’ve got a tough one this week, that’s for sure. [West Virginia] is ranked No. 8 in the country, going down to Morgantown which is not a real good place to play from the standpoint of the noise and everything else. But we’re looking forward to the challenge of going up against the air-raid offense. Geno Smith, Stedman Bailey and Tavon Austin and Joe Madsen the center, who is a really good player. They’re averaging over 600 yards a game, … Read More »

On protecting quarterback Perry Hills:
“We are going to have to take a look at the things we saw today and figure out how we can help him. It might be about protections. We will evaluate our personnel but I don’t see anything from a personnel standpoint that we would do. We have to keep coaching him up. … Read More »

I had to search the internet to find a site that Picked The Terps. Here’s the theory that bugs me—Temple was a 10 1/2 point favorite last week and when the Terps won the first expression from non-Terp fans was Temple was no good. So much for the vaunted Temple rushing game.

Just a little more analysis:

The TD pass to Matt Furstenburg was picture perfect. I was talking to former Raven Bennie Thompson at the Great Prostate Event and he was impressed with the precision of … Read More »

Temple really beat down Maryland last year in what at the time was a fairly surprising result (38-7) to me at the time.  Temple only threw 9 times all day and nearly ran the ball for 300 yards and they were able to dominate Maryland physically up front.  From that domination Temple has lost all 5 TD’s (NFL draftee RB Bernard Pierce) as well as 4 of the 5 big uglies up front that cleared the way.  Against a powerhouse … Read More »
