Here’s my problem with tonight’s 9PM game: The Irish are superb in putting pressure on their opponents. The Terps have trouble keeping their turnovers to a minimum. The Terps have a decided inside edge. I know I haven’y been overly positive about the Terps this year but that is only because that turnover problem disrupts my opinion. Yet 30-4 isn’t that bad of a record. I was at Comcast the night the Terps came back from 20 against Georgia Tech.

Head football coach Randy Edsall announced Thursday two adjustments with staff assignments. With the change to a 3-4 defense, Lyndon Johnson will now oversee both outside linebacker positions (Sam and Will), while Andre Powell will take over as special-teams coordinator, in addition to his running back chores.
“With our scheme changes defensively, the Sam and Will are two of the most critical components of the scheme and I wanted Lyndon devoting his full attention to these positions,” Edsall said. Last season, Johnson … Read More »

Looks like Judgment Day is Sept 8. Lots of talk about Maryland Football. We shall see.
It’s a great day to be a Terp. What a honor I had last night to be on the podium with Haed Coach Randy Edsall when he was officially called about the announcement that Stefon Diggs, the #6 player in the country had decided to attend the university of Maryland on a football scholarship. This is the highest ranked recruit Maryland has ever had.
Stefon had been recruited by over 30 schools but his decision came down to Auburn, Florida, … Read More »
Rumor now has it that he will announce his decision at Looney’s at College Park at 6PM. I like the location.
Wow if indeed Stefon does commit to Maryland, he will instantly become a folk hero in this state. It will certainly be the the biggest moment in Maryland football recruiting history. 3 players from Good Counsel–the 4th best high school team in the land. But let’s not celebrate yet. But the receiving legacy would continue Vernon, Darrius, Torrey—Stefon—pretty good … Read More »

“As of (last night), I believe Maryland is the team to beat,” Mike Farrell of Rivals.com said. “They’ve got that home-field advantage. To choose another school at this point is going to be difficult for him.”
3 days left until decision day. Vernon Davis—DHB—Torrey and hopefully Stefon. Danny O’Brien certainly helped Torrey get the Ravens deal and Stefon he can do the same for you.
Yes MGN President Rick Jaklitsch is my good friend and Co host of my Saturday Terp Talk Show on 1580 AM. But being completely candid, the presentation put on last night at the Stamp Center was magnificent. The atmosphere was electric, the food was super, the silent auction was was great for all the memorabilia guys, but most important the presentation of the recruiting class galvanized the entire room.
Coach Edsall was estemely upbeat emphasizing how he was able to … Read More »
