Here is the article from si.com
The typical buzzwords of a draft — potential, upside, skilled — apply doubly when the tantalizing prospect is a big man. The overall low-ceiling nature of this draft makes dreaming on a 7-footer like Alex Len even easier.
It’s possible Len will someday be the best player in the 2013 draft. It’s … Read More »

Maryland sophomore center Alex Len received honorable mention All-ACC and was named to the All-ACC Defensive Team, both of which were announced on Monday by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.
The Antratsit, Ukraine, native ranks second in the conference with 60 blocks and recorded at least one in 28 of 31 regular-season games. He’s helped Maryland control the paint, where the Terps have outscored opponents by an average of 36.8 points to 24.0 points.
Why? Maryland is currently 3-4, with 11 ACC games left. To get to 11 wins if they are 3-5 would require a 8-2 finish— a tall task.
Keep an eye on the following:
Does any point guard step up and take control of this team?
Can Charles Mitchell put together a second strong game on the road?
Can Jake Layman play like he does at Comcast?
Can Alex stay aggressive throughout the game?
Can the Terps reach 70 points?

“2. Alex Len, Maryland Terrapins: Len will be a starting center in the NBA, and has the best potential as a pivot man in the league. A true 7-footer, Len has size and skill along with the best offensive game among centers available in this year’s draft. Len also has good hands, can pass out of the post and can face up and hit perimeter shots. He is a productive rebounder and shot-blocker, and is gaining strength … Read More »

As the 2nd half begun the Terps lapsed into a letargy of play. Coach Turgeon substituted his 4 guys on the bench–left in PeShon–result a 10-0 run led by Nick Faust. It is great to see the City College star playing where he should be and his responsed today is a 10 point game so far, including 3-3 from beyond the arc.
It’s been a pretty lacklustre second half as the Terps maintain a healthy lead. The Terps have thoroughly … Read More »
Just watching the presence of this team, everything is different. This is a new work in progress and the result when Turgeon weaves it into a cohesive unit should please Terrapin nation.
However, the defense is somewhat porous. WAIT A MINUTE—OMG–a flying dunk by Alex of a pass by PeShon. Samford is scoring on dribble penetrations, back doors and easy layups.
Stogs has 3 threes and 15 points. Let’s understand–without his offense the Terps will be hurting. Padgett lays in … Read More »
14 points — 4 Dunks — 8 Rebounds in his first game as a Terp must make the biggest skeptic happy. This is now a different team. By the way the Terps won 83-72 and as usual they somewhat struggled against an inferior opponent but got the job done.
Stoglin had 22 points on 6 threes and Nick Faust provided some key buckets finishing with 10 points.
But the real story of the game is that PeShon and Len are … Read More »
