The Bronx Bombers win their first World Series since 2000, and it solid fashion, winning with enough starting pitching and key relief work. Their offense, which is what they were known for coming into the series, was good, but the men on the mound were better. Congratulations to the New York Yankees for the win.

First things first. I think it will be a big mistake if the Phillies don’t start Pedro Martinez in Game 2. The reasons. One Pedro is a big game pitcher who won’t be in awe pitching on the road at Yankee Stadium. I don’t think it’s a good idea pitching lefties, Lee and Hamels back to back. I have to tell the truth, the last 2 nights I wanted to puke. How could we have given up George Sherrill. Bill Ripken said he believed Sherrill is the strength of the Dodgers bullpen, as George got the victory Thursday night. Then last night I had to watch Tex go deep to win the game.
