Here is what could be at stake for the Terrapins Saturday afternoon:

8-4 just sounds light years better then 7-5. Could the Music City Bowl or the Chick-Fil-A Bowl be on the line with a Terrapin victory?

Finally on National TV on the deuce let the nation and recruits continue to watch a feisty, gutsy team continue to battle against Ryssell Wilson.

Opening statement from Ralph—-

“I think we’ve had great preparation going into this season. Our off-season work was very good. I think we’ve improved over where we were this time last year. “I think our offensive line is better, we’ve been able to stay healthy and have the same team working together which I think is really important for us. We have a young, inexperienced group behind the first team but we are looking very good with the first team at … Read More »

Congrats to 2 deserving Terrapins. LB Alex Wujciak was named to the First Team ALL ACC and Torrey Smith was a 2nd team selection as wide receiver and specialist. Wujciak, a junior, is currently second in the ACC and eighth nationally in tackles (10.9 per game). He racked up 131 tackles in 2009 to become the first Maryland defender to post more than 125 stops (133 in 2008) in back-to-back years since E.J. Henderson (150 in 2001; 175 in 2002).

Some observations of another disappointing loss:

Jamarr Robinson looked excellent in defeat. In the series he was in , Jamarr threw 3 on the money bullet passes. He also engineered the last TD drive to close the gap to 19-17.

Torrey Smith finished a brilliant season with a TD reception late in the game.

In a crushing blow to the defense, Captain Nolan Carroll suffered a fractured tibia and will be lost for the season. Coach Friedgen commented on the team defense: “After watching the game film, Friedgen said poor tackling was “very much so” the biggest problem. “We need to tackle in space better than what we did. Some people tackled very well, I thought Adrian Moten tackled extremely well and so did Wujciak. He made some big tackles in the game. But I … Read More »

Maryland (0-0) at California (0-0), 10:00 EST, ESPN2, Saturday, September 5

Why to watch: Is this the year Cal finishes the year where it starts it? The Bears begin the season on the top 10 ledge and have a legit Heisman contender in RB Jahvid Best, yet have been a disappointment in this spot in recent years. If the program is to fulfill expectations and remain one of the top contenders to USC’s Pac-10 throne, a fast start, especially from … Read More »
