The No. 1-ranked Maryland field hockey team held off No. 2 North Carolina 4-1 in a rainy, wet match Saturday afternoon and claimed the ACC regular season title. Senior Emma Thomas dented the nest twice and Katie O’Donnell added a 3rd goal as Alicia Grater put another shut out notch on her record. The Terps as usual outshot their opponent 13-4 with 5 corners. Next up UVA Friday afternnon at 4PM,  just hours before Coach Missy Meharg will enter the Maryland Athletic Hall of Fame.

When you watch Katie play you realize that she is far and away the best player in the US and keys every Terrapin rally. Without stellar play by the Michigan goalie the Terps could have tallied 10 goals. The Terps are now 5-0.
