Here is the key result of the trade–Chauncey Billups, Amare and Carmelo are the heart of the Knicks and what a great heart it is.
I can’t see how the Lakers could pull off this deal. the only thing that scares me, is if Denver might want Blake as an added part of the deal. Stay tuned–Carmelo could cure the Lakers of its malaise.
I have to give the Russian credit. After losing out on the John Wall derby he didn’t hide his head in the sand and sulk. The Nets are about to give up the house in order to land Carmelo to a long term deal. On another note every time I see the Miami 3 I get nauseous. Kevin Durant is my man–next to Kobe the best.
It seems like the allure of playing in the Big Apple and for his favorite coach, Mike D’Antoni is going to result in the Baltimore superstar playing for the Knicks.
40 Games in 40 nights has proven one thing to me: Kobe Bryant is still the best player in basketball. Sorry Melo, LeBron, Dwight –Kobe plays 48 minutes, takes a beating without complaining, and is able not to wear down. No matter who wins the East it’s the Lakers in no more then 6 games for the title.
I said the other day that Carmelo is beginning to face being worn out at the end of games. Wednesday night was no exception. The Nuggets looked frozen in time for the first 2 minutes of the 4th quarter and totally threw away game 5 to the Lakers. It almost seems like this Denver team runs on its own anger not even paying attention to George Karl. Last night it was one mistake after another all involving anger control. … Read More »
Early in the first half, Carmelo was being shut down and the Nuggets were getting blown away by theLakers, when Linas Kleiza was inserted into the lineup. He nailed 3 threes and brought Denver back into the game. Carmelo Anthony again was superb scoring 34 and adding a tremendous physical presence to the Denver lineup. Next game Saturday Night at 8:30 from Denver.
ESPN late morning host Colin Cowherd was on a tirade about how weak the East was this year and how the Cavaliers are so overrated. IT’s LeBron and nothing else. Well he wasn’t all wrong as on Weds night the King scored 48 yet his team collapsed down the wire to lose to Orlando in Game one. Game 2, now a must win for Carmelo and Denver.
The Score is 101-99 Lakers, Denver ball and who does George Karl allow to throw the ball in 6’2 Anthony Carter. Phil Jackson puts Lamar Odum on him and sure enough Carter throws the ball away and that was that. Melo was incredible 39 points with 14-20 from the field. Of course Kobe got every call and scored 40. Carmelo actually is too big for Kobe to guard. What a series this will be.
While on the subject of Carmelo, though he was not a Terp, I have always admired how he has given back to his community. Playgrounds have been supplied with equipment all over Baltimore. And now Carmelo has produced a self portrait movie about one of boxing’s most controversial figures ever, Mike Tyson. The film told in Tyson’s words, takes you all the way back to his roots in Brooklyn. Tyson blames all of his trouble on himself though there is … Read More »
