The No. 1 Maryland women’s lacrosse team clinched at least a share of the ACC regular season title with a 14-13 victory against No. 2 North Carolina Saturday.

The Terps (14-0, 4-0 ACC) were led by senior Katie Schwarzmann and freshman Taylor Cummings, who recorded five and four goals, respectively. Brooke Griffin added three assists as Maryland set a new attendance record for a lacrosse game at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex with a crowd of 2,347.

 Katie Schwarzmann racked up a career-high eight points to help No. 3 Maryland defeat No. 6 Loyola 17-11 Saturday in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship.

 Katie Schwarzmann scored a career-high six goals as No. 2 Maryland picked up its first road victory 16-6 at No. 17 Penn State Sunday afternoon. Schwarzmann scored five of her six goals in the first half and also racked up a game-high six groundballs. Karri Ellen Johnson and Brooke Griffin also tallied two goals each as Maryland (3-0) won its third consecutive game by 10 or more goals. It’s simple for this team. Trailing 3-1, Coach Cathy Reese called timeout, fired up the troops and the team proceeded to outscore The Tigers 14-3. Four different Terrapins scored hat tricks: including Laura Merrifield, 3 Sarah Mollison 4, Katie Schwarzman 4,. The Terps await the winner of Duke and Florida for the semifinal game at Stony Brook Friday night. Total domination by the Terps!!!! It’s a final 15-6.

High Noon Saturday that’s when the Lady Terps begin their quest for a repeat National Championship.Hopefully Karri Ellen will have recovered from her March 29 concussion. with a healthy return from Karri Ellen, the Terps are a clear favorite to repeat. The funny thing is without her The Terps are still the favorite to win but they better prepare to face some stalls.
