Current and former Terps represent USA, Wales, Canada, Ireland and Australia as the 2009 FIL Women’s World Cup commences in Prague, Czech Republic June 17-27. Pool play began with matches on Thursday and immediately pinned two current Terrapins against each other as sophomore Laura Merrifield and England battled junior Caitlyn McFadden and Team USA. Coach Dave Cottle had the guts to start his 3 freshman recruits on attack today and the gamble paid off as Maryland led by Grant Catalino’s 4 goals defeated G-town on the road.
