This one I can’t understand. According to terrapintimes.com Painter was influenced by his handlers to go to NC State. This guy though desired by the Terps might still be too frail for the ACC. NEXT!!!!

Straight from terrapintimes.com comes the news that the timetable for DeShawn Painter’s decision has been moved up to tonight. Could this be good news for the Terps as Painter just completed his official visit to Maryland last weekend? I will post his decision as soon as I find out. Remember Painter is a 6’9″ Power Forward eligible for the 2009 class.

One of the final pieces on th 2009 Basketball puzzle for Coach Williams is the addition of 6’9″ power forward, DeShawn Painter to the roster. DeShawn had his official visit to College Park this past weekend. Terrapintimes.com reports that DeShawn will make his announcement of where he plans to matriculate on May 18. The choice is down to 2 schools, Maryland and NC State.

Ricardo Young opted for Virginia Tech on Thursday after deciding the Terrapin QB picture was getting too crowded with the Verbal Commitment of Tyler Smith.

DeShawn Painter, 6-9 PF from Hargrave Military Academy is in College Park this weekend for his official visit. It’s down to 3 ACC schools for this USC de-commit. Maryland is his final visit and here’e hoping he realizes that playing for Maryland would be the right decision for him.

DeShawn Painter, 6’9 power forward from Hargrave Academy had high words of praise for NC Sate Coach Sydney Lowe but did not commit. He will visit Maryland this weekend according to terrapin times.com.  Because of Maryland’s immediate need for big men, it would seem like Painter is a natural player for the program. We shall see.

One more scholarship has opened up with the not so unexpected departure of Steve Goins from the Maryland program. Terrapin times reports that Goins will most likely transfer to a smaller D1 school near his home of Chicago. On the recruiting trail, apparently Gary made a strong impression on Lake Clifton’s Will Barton on an in school visit last week. The Terrapins continue to go after Florida de-commit DeShawn Painter, who would be available in 2009. Landon Milbourne has surgery on his foot today and is expected to make a quick recovery.
