Atlanta Falcons Record: 13-3* Torrey Smith, WR, Maryland
Atlanta needs to develop a pass-catching target across from Roddy White, and Smith is a guy who can get downfield, work underneath and will always be a home run threat when he catches the ball. He also offers a serious threat in the return game. Atlanta doesn’t have a lot of holes and Smith could help take this offense to another level as an explosive threat opposite White.
Diandra Tchatchouang made a driving layup with 6 seconds left in OT, leading the #14 ranked Lady Terps to victory. Diandra also hit a 3 to force overtime. UVA squandered a 6 point lead with 2 minutes left in regulation. Alyssa Thomas scored 18 with 12 rebounds for Maryland. Next up–the Tar heels at Comcast Sunday night.
Diandra Tchatchouang and Jackie Nared combined for 27 points helping the Terps toa road victory over the Demon Deacons. It was Coach Brenda Frese’s 250 career win. Next up for the Lady Terps is Clemson on Sunday at Comcast.
Maryland kept their program-record home court winning streak alive with the school’s 45th straight win in College Park with a 76-44 victory over Stony Brook in the first of three games in the Terrapin Classic. Sophomore Lynetta Kizer helped lead the Terrapins with her 12th career and second consecutive double-double.

The largest crowd in Towson Women’s Basketball history witnessed a shocking upset tonight as Towson point guard Shanae Baker-Brice put the team on her shoulders and led the Tigers to a dominating 12 point win. It’s hard to assess the team’s performance in such a one sided game. DiandA Tchatchouang and Tianna Hawkins have led the way in the 2 games for the Terps, but I am glad the regular season starts Saturday night. I am beginning to believe that Brenda might have a better team then most fans expect.
