Don’t blame this one on Kevin Gregg. I can’t blame him for destroying the sunflower seed collection. A big leaguer has to catch that fly ball in the 9th. Not only did he miss it but he bumbled it into a triple. Who was the official scorer? That ball was in his glove. Tampa made the defensive plays to stay in the game –the O’s didn’t. Defeat was assured when the tying run came in. Mark Reynolds went deep twice … Read More »
His name is Jeremy Guthrie. Throw strikes, challenge the hitters.—has been the formula for success for the guy who was brought here be our #1. Well it may have taken a year and a half but he has arrived. Buck is now 33-22 since his arrival. Felix Pie had a terrific 1st game as the O’s swept the Tigers.
Kevin Milwood probably pitched his last game for the O’s last night but in a strange way it was a big one.he O’s avoid the dreade 100 loss season. Bravo Buck. Bravo Koji. Oh yes–Koji 14 pitches 9 strikes in his closer’s role last night. Felix Pie delivered a clutch 2 out 2 run triple to win the game for the O’s.
I went to the O’s game last night. Good effort in a losing battle. Some thoughts:
Where have you gone Corey Patterson? Buck must have seen some of the blunders.
I like how Buck stays withe starters much longer. Part of the reason the O’s always have a September swoon is because the bullpen is just finished.
Matt Wieters looked great at bat in his last 2 trips.
It’s hard to get a foul ball behind the screen.
Attman’s was … Read More »
The only bright spot today was the superb mop up session of Mata pitching 3 innings and allowing just 1 run. Saturday, Andy MacPhail was raving about how great Felix Pie could be if he just stayed healthy. Well Sunday, Pie put on a defensive exhibit that set the game of baseball back 40 tears. Expect the dumping expert, Mr MacPhail to further cripple this hapless team in the next 10 days.
Where do the O’s go from here. Speculation will run rampant over the next few weeks. Salazar, Pie, Sherrill, are they on the block? Will we soon see Tillman pitching? Will the lack of baseball fundamentals displayed by the team lead to the demise of Trembley? Will the O’s for once not play el foldo in August and September? Will the farce of competition continue and Roy Halladay become a Red Sox? Stay tuned!!!
Funny how things work out. A week ago , we stated on Terp Talk–keep Salazar and trade Felix Pie. Ironically these are 2 players that have drawn interest from the pennant chasers in baseball. Expect both to be gone by the All Star break.
I was at the O’s game last night. After 3 1/2 innings with the Birds losing 9-1, being surrounded by Red Sox nation, with a thunderstorm lurking, I decide I had enough and left. Fast forward to 11PM or so. I could not bear to watch the game after getting home until Danny Matta texted me the O’s had just made the greatest comeback in their history. I turned on MASN right away and almost feinted–Yes it was 11-10 O’s … Read More »
They should have made the whole team come back to Baltimore in old school bus. When is Trembley going to wake up and take Mora out of the 5 hole. When is Trembley going to put Jones back in the 2 hole where he had such great success and leave him there. When is Trembley going to wake up and understand that Koji pitching 10 innings a month isn’t helping the team by being a starter. And Trembley should be … Read More »
Take me home quickly–Dave Trembley uttered to the chartered pilot. What a disgraceful 3 game performance by the O’s. Tuesday night –idiotic base running by Wigginton cost us a win. Wednesday-an embarrasing effort by Pie insured defeat. Last night–maybe the pitching staff should pitch Mr Ramirez a shade more carefully. Chris Ray was not impressive. Ouch–here come the Nationals!!!
