With all apologies to JT3 and Flip Saunders, overnight Mark Turgeon has become a household word in the area. the last 2 nights at Tark’s and the Costas Inn—his name is in every conversation, I have been questioned 100s of time about my opinion of the hire, and everyone is asking how long til we are back on top again. This is why Turgeon came to College Park. He understands that here basketball is King. at College Station he was … Read More »
Could there be a light at the end of the tunnel? For the first time in several years I can actually say a Wizards game kept me on the edge of my seat. Each Day John Wall gets better and if he ever develops a consistent outside shot , he will be unstoppable. The Celtics laid off of him, gave him the shot but Wall kept busting into 3 defenders and tonight came out ahead. this was truely a packed … Read More »
If you closed your eyes and listened you would have thought you were in LA. The lakers are a team and I mean a real team. Yes Kobe and Shannon Brown fire up the shots but that’s where it ends. Derek Fisher and Steve Blake are excellent at setting up the offense. One of my Terp Talk reporters, Lauren H had a great interview with Stevie earlier in the day . Hear it Thursday night on Terp Talk at 6PM. … Read More »
I am finding it tough to see anything encouraging about the Bullets. Trevor Booker though undersized as a 5, has really been playing well as of late. I think Flip is out of ideas. I wish we had Caron back. Well Blake had a great game against the Wizards in LA.
On Tuesday night, after an overtime loss to the Bobcats, Flip Saunders said that in 15 years of coaching, he had never been more disappointed than he was when Andray Blatche refused to go back into the game after Flip took him out to talk about defense. Flip said that it was alright for Blatche to be “pissed” at … Read More »
I wonder if Flip is sorry he ever answered Ernie’s phone call last summer. Flip said that Andre Blatche’s response to his advice was the most disappointing event of his coaching career. Hasn’t Andre seen that the Wizards are letting anyone and everyone go. Doesn’t Blatche realize that if a team can lose 12 in a row with him, what … Read More »
After finishing dinner at Tarks last night, I looked at the TV and saw the Wizards in familiar position –ahead by 1 with 8 minutes to play. Well the rest is history . Fifteen minutes the Wiz were toast losing again down the stretch. Flip—figure out something and please don’t take the added distractions role.
Flip you better learn soon that this is not the Gilbert of yesteryear. Cut to the chase—The Bullets are down by 1 with 16 seconds left and Gilbert has the ball. He lets the clock go down to 5 seconds then starts his vintage moves and he has the ball stolen from him by Tyreke Evans–yes the same guy who did the Terps in against Memphis last year. Gilbert scored 33 but once again failed down the stretch. The Wiz … Read More »
Midway through the 2nd quarter , I just had to ask TNT’s David Aldridge, Ron Thompson, and others on Press Row who was wearing the #7 jersey for the Wizards. Surely it wasn’t Andre Blatche. 13-15 from the field. Incredibly aggrssive all over the court. What message did Flip get over to Andre. The kid was truely unbelievable. Gilbert dropped a 32 on the Nets playing only about 25 minutes. And yes, Ernie Grunfeld is hands down EXEC of the … Read More »
Many guys on this team have a lot to prove this year. First and foremost is the former Agent Zero, Gilbert Arenas. Let’s see if he can put this team on his back while Antawn is recuperating. I do believe that Mike Miller will be a tremendous help as well as the return of Brendan Heywood gives this team big man depth it has never had. Here we go……………………………….
