This was Joe’s exit statement at the post game press conference. He was tearful but like the great sportsman he is, Joe faced the music after giving it everything he had:
“It’s a huge honor to play for the University of Maryland. We left it all out on the field today. This has been one of the most rewarding experience of my life,” said senior Joe Cummings. “You come into every season and your goal is to win a national … Read More »
Many of my thoughts on a GREAT DAY TO BE A TERP:
Unseeded again and in the Championship game—hmmmmmmmm
Snubbed by the All America selection commitee, but he scores 4 goals against a “great” defense–Drew Snider is his name
The post game celebration was subdued by Terrapin standards as the guys know that there is unfinished business
The interior passing was superb today. Kevin Cooper had 4 assists and Joe Cummings had 3
Stats –what are they? Groundballs Duke 27-23 … Read More »
I am never one to hide my emotions so I have to admit to being upset today having to watch the few UVA fans in attendance celebrate victory in our house. The Hoos were not hit nearly as hard by graduation as the Terps were last year and the depth and experience eventualy wore Maryland down. Steele Stanwick was the difference today with 3 goals and 5 assists.
Maryland after getting off to a slow start actually led the game … Read More »
My take—A lot of the Terps still have a sick feeling from the loss to UVA in the title game. I will say it–the Cavs were LUCKY that Colin Briggs committed a violation large enough to be suspended for the Semi final game against Denver. He had fresh legs –no one else on the field did–to his credit Briggs scored 5 goals and the rest is history.
Well, I’ve said it shouldn’t be called a rematch (even if it … Read More »
Take that Quint. As Coach Tillman always says “Play Like Terps” Tonight Maryland dominated every possible except in delivering cheap shots late in the game.
Senior Captain Joe Cummings led the way with 5 points including a hat trick. Mike Shakespeare contributed his first hat trick as the late flurry by the Hoyas at the end of the first half woke up Maryland. Joe Cummings put the Hoyas away in the 2nd half.
Actually Coach Tillman called off the dogs … Read More »

Hats off to Coach Tillman and the entire squad for getting off the canvas after the brutal loss last week to Carolina and going into Virginia and easily defeat the Cavaliers. The story from umterps.com: Senior Ryan Young led the No. 10 University of Maryland men’s lacrosse team with six points oon two goals and four assists, while junior Joe Cummings and sophomore John Haus each scored four goals, in the Terps’ 12-7 victory over No. 4 Virginia in front of … Read More »
Wow, ESPN 3 for whatever reason would not come into on my computer in Comcast, so I had to suffer through an in game blog from inside lacrosse to get the score, while being tortured watching the Terps lose to UVA. I just finished watching the replay and am now even more upset. Duke tied the score after Landon Carr cleanly stripped a Dookie of the ball with 31 seconds lefyyet was called for holding. Holding—wow.2 times in the final … Read More »
Joe Cummings hat trick was not enough to overcome a furious offensive performance by the Tar Heels as the #1 seeded Terrapins lost to the Tar Heels in the first round of the ACC Tournament. The Terps now stand at 8-6 and wait for next Saturday’s game against Yale in New Haven.
The Lady Terps continued its unblemished season defeating UVA 15-7 behind the stellar goalkeeping of Brittany Dipper. Caitlyn Mcfadden , Brittany Jones and Laura Merrifield each registered a … Read More »
