No. 6 Maryland relied on its dominate defense Saturday to cruise to a 2-0 win over No. 13 Lafayette in the NCAA First Found in Storrs, Conn.
The Terps (17-5) outshot the Leopards (18-3), 17-2 and held them without a corner. The Terrapin defensive unit recorded its ninth shutout of the season. Freshman Anna Dessoyeand junior Jill Witmer scored Maryland’s two goals.
The Terps play for entrance to the Final Four tomorrow vs UConn.
