Third Baseman Josh Bell has come up from Norfolk to join the Orioles today. Josh was the prime target of the George Sherrill trade I have talked so much about. I will give him til Sept 1 before I pass any judgement. Believe I am rooting for him to do well!!!

The GM meetings are occurring and the offseason has officially begun, and the Orioles will be looking for some new stopgaps at certain positions.  Knowing Andy MacPhail, he will be looking away from expensive players and instead trying to find bargains while still being able to get a 25-man roster filled.

The Orioles traded their closer George Sherrill for 2 Los Angeles Dodgers prospects.  The 32 year old lefthander acquired in the Eric Bedard trade saved 51 games in his brief stay in Baltimore.  Sherrill, who will be used as a set-up man for the Dodgers, was traded for Double A right handed pitcher Steven Johnson, the 22 year old son of former Orioles pitcher Dave Johnson and 22 year power-hitting 3rd baseman Josh Bell who recently was voted the M.V.P. of the Southern … Read More »
