In an awfully long game the Orioles held on to a 5-0 early advantage to squeak out the victory. The home plate ump’s strike zone was about 1 sq ft. Only Koji pierced the zone with strikes. His season line 36 innings 46 K’s— 7 walks —21 hits— 2.25 ERA—-Unreal. Vlad continues to look anemic at the plate. Derreck should be cleanup at this point with Vlad getting spot starts. It is not working out. Bottom line–3 run Hr + … Read More »
7th inning Jim Johnson
8th Inning Koji
9th Inning Gregg
Pretty impressive. Now if we could just score some runs.
It was a sight to behold. Vlady, Reynolds, on and on contributing clutch hits to move the O’s to 5-1 5 1/2 games ahead of the 0-6 Red Sox–You just have to love it!!!! Koji “Nothing But Strikes” Uehara came into the game in the 9th inning threw nothing but strikes–1,2,3 game over.
It’s funny, I was talking with Stan on the Sports Maven this morning and said I would not allow Roberts to worry about stealing bases. He is too valuable as a hitter. Now that’s 2 games with 2 crucial hits. I was glad to see Buck yank Gonazo before he blew another game. I still can’t figure out why KOji is not the closer but I WILL NEVER SECOND GUESS BUCK-Baseball is back in Btown. by the way what a … Read More »
Definitely a good move. Koji was nearly perfect the last part of 2010.
Nice win to break a 5 game losing streak.
10,000 in Tampa for a potential playoff clinching game. Great baseball town.
Koji–40 Innings Pitched 5 Walks—another great effort—SIGN THIS GUY!!!!
Okay Markakis might never be a big time home run hitter but he does get timely hit after timely hit.
26 Homers for Jason Werth—hmmmmmm Charlie Manuel is clearly the best manager in baseball as the Phillies clinch 4th straight East Division title.
It was great to watch Luke Scott take Rivera deep and then doubling to lead off the 11th. The bullpen kept the Yanks at Bay. Koji mowed the Yanks down in the 10th. A little relief from a miserable Ravens game.
Jim Johnson, Koji, Gonzo, Simon—–could the bullpen actually be in place. Koji just throws strikes. I guess one of these games someone will take him downtown. BUT A RUN WON”T SCORE BECAUSE OF A WALK!!!!! In Koji’s last 10 appearances, he has allowed 0 walks. Buck is 17-10 and clutch plays and hits are everywhere!!!
Utterly amazing!! Showalter makes all the perfect moves. Gonzo then Koji to close out the 9th. The O’s have ruined the Angels season. Now let’s do some damage to Boston!!!
Buck is now 11-6. Another great starting performance. Koji mopped up. Koji is good for 12 pitches before he breaks out in a pouring sweat. But—he has been effective over and over. Big Hit for BRob–a 2 run double to give the O’s some breathing room.
