Regulation and two overtime periods were not enough to decide the ACC Women’s Soccer Championship, but Wake Forest took the title in a shootout over the No. 2 seed Maryland.The match, which ended 1-1 in double-overtime, is officially a tie and makes the Terps overall season record 17-2-2. The Terrapins were leading 2-1 down the stretch but with a frantic attack, UVA scored with 1 second left to tie the score and send the game into an uneventful OT. Malory Baker and Lydia Hastings scored for the Terps. Next up for Maryland is Virginia Tech at Ludwig Field on Sunday.
The Men’s team will play the Hokies tonight at Ludwig Field.
