I had the opportunity last night night to spend some time with ex Ravens FG kicker Matt Stover. Matt represented our company at a trade show–Meet and Greet. He was thrilled at his fan support, courteous to everyone present, and sincerely interacted with everyone at the event. This clearly explains to me why he was such a success as a Raven. A first class gentleman—Matt Stover!!!
Yes, Matt missed the 51 yarder but it would have been good from 44. Sign him now and solve 1 problem!!!!!
Everyone including John Harbaugh now knows it was a major maistake not resigning Matt Stover. Now it’s time to right the wrong. Remove the sweating from every major FG kick. Bring back Stover and let him stay the kicker until his accuracy escapes. This will be 1 less problem the Ravens will have in 2010.
For years the Ravens offense consisted of field position and using #3 Matt Stover to nail any field goal inside 40 yards. Touchdowns have been brutal to come by. Forget the final 17-13 score, the Ravens thoroughly dominated the Panthers tonight. Steve Smith was virtually shut out by ex-Terp Dominique Foxworth. #5 was 23-27 and 247 yards. Ozzie’s decision to go with added strength at the Oline is paying off as Flacco had all day to pass. Ray Rice turned in an excellent performance.
