Maryland placed four players on the 2009 USILA Men’s Lacrosse All-America teams, which were announced Thursday. Sophomores Ryan Young and Max Schmidt earned second and third team honors, respectively, while sophomore Grant Catalino and senior Dan Groot were honorable mention selections.

Terrapin Sophomores Tony Mendes (2 goals 1 assist), Ryan Young (1 g 2 assists) and defense-man Max Schmidt led Team USA to a 19-12 victory Sunday in British Columbia over Canada in the U19 World Championship game.  This on top of the stellar performances turned in by the 6 future Terps in the UA All Star Game leads me to believe that Maryland will be a dominant force in lacrosse over the next 3 years.
