The Terps always seem to make the opposing goalie look good. Why? Because they continually pepper the opposing goalie who gets many tries to make great saves. Tuesday night was no exception—once Virginia Tech tied the game the Terrapin attack begin. Patrick Mullins headed a shot in to give the Terps a 2-1 lead. The Terps then poured the shots on opposing goalie Kyle Renfro but he was up to the task. Sasho was definitely pleased with the way the … Read More »

I watched this game on Terps TV and was confounded by the inability of the Terps to dent the nets. They outshot Lehigh 30-6—and that doesn’t even explain how one sided this game was. Anyway the Terps move to 14-0-1 with 1 home game remaining in the regular season against Clemson Saturday night at Ludwig. As usual the joint will be rocking!!!

Patrick Mullins’ first half goal was the difference as No. 1 Maryland remained unbeaten in 2012 with a 1-0 victory over Virginia Friday night at Ludwig Field.

The Maryland (9-0-1, 4-0-0 ACC) backline of Taylor KempLondon WoodberryDakota Edwards and Mikey Ambrose once again held strong for the Terrapins’ sixth shutout of the season.

The Terps jumped out to a 2-0 lead courtesy of a pair of early goals in the match’s first 10 minutes. Dan Metzger found John Stertzer for a header at 7:14 for Maryland’s first score of the preseason. Two minutes later, Patrick Mullins gave the Terps a two-goal cushion.

Once again Patrick Mullins scored on a header and the Terps withstood a furious barrage of last minute shots to get a big 1-0 victory. To me it just seems like casey Townsend is ready to burst out with some goals. The Terps outshot the Huskies 16-11. Zac MacMath came out of the box tomake a huge kick save late in the game.

The Maryland men’s soccer team notched their first ACC win of the season Saturday at home against NC State.  Jason Herrick scored the first and third goals, while Casey Townsend added the second goal.  Maryland and Zac MacMath would have had a shut-out were it not for a slip-up between Paul Torress and MacMath which led to an empty net shot on goal for the Pack’s Chris Zuerner.

Freshman Patrick Mullins tallied the first two assists of his career.  Mullins … Read More »

His strike from six-yards out in the far corner hammered off the Greyhound backline for an own goal in the 39th minute.  Junior Matt Oduaran padded … Read More »
