Some thoughts 36 Hours after a valiant effort by Maryland:
Alex Len’s exit may have sealed the Terps doom Saturday morning but apparently his ankle injury was minor as terrapin times.com reports he will play against Duke.
A great contingent of Terrapin fans showed up at the Palestra and were treated to a great comeback rally by the Terps that fell about 5 minutes short
PeShon turned in his best offensive performance of the year finishing with 15 points on … Read More »
I am sure that his minutes will be limited at first but rest assured when he is back to full strength, Maryland will be a far superior team with Pe at the point. Nick will be able to return to the wing, where he is comfortable. the defense has been there for Nick but now the offense will return. Anxiously awaiting 8 PM. I will blog during the game.
The outlook for this team will dramatically improve with his return. with the pressure of bringing the ball up court off Nick, Faust will become a much stronger offensive player. Most importantly the added depth will get everyone’s minutes more in line with Turgeon’s upbeat tempo. PeShon’s return will precede the beginning of Alex Len’s career at Maryland by just 1 game.
Okay I was wrong. Mosley will not move to point. That position will belong again to Sophomore Terrell Stoglin. The Terps are down to 7 scholarship players. 4 Guards–Stoglin, Mosley, Mychal Parker, and Nick Faust and 3 Bigs—Pankey, Weijs, and Padgett. The NCAA Clearance of Alex Len is now even more crucial to the hopes of this year’s team. Wow–what a brutal day for Maryland.
THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Martin Breunig was so impressed by his visit to Maryland this past weekend that he verbally committed to Maryland this morning according to terrapintimes.com. Keith Cavanaugh will be on Terp Talk tonight to discuss this. At the same time Gary and his staff are at the practice of Greg Whittington at Oakland Mills High School.
Imagine the strength of next year’s linup with PeShon, Terrell, Gibbs, and Faust at the guard position.
With Jordan, Padge, Breunig, … Read More »
The guards are getting it done tonight. Terrell has ignited that new gear he discovered at Virginia Tech. When he is at full speed he is unstoppable. About now FSU is pining for Chris Singleton. Jordan Williams makes a snowbird to send the Terps up 55-44. Dino from PeShon. White answers for the Seminoles. Dino answers with a 3 point play. Dino draws a charge. Bowie hits a pair of free throws 61-49 Terps
Memo-30 Gary ‘s Post Game Press Conference
This one really hurts. I journeyed up to Chesnut Hill todayand suffered through another nip and tuck battle that the Terps barely lost.
Some of the bad points:
Maryland had no answer for Reggie jackson who finished with 31 points on 12-16 shooting, including 1 of 5 threes very late in the game that served as the dagger.
The Terps fall to 5-5 in the conference in a game that was perceived … Read More »
This is a game in an ACC break period for the Terps when there is a week’s gap between games. Longwood is led by junior Antwan Carter, who is 6-foot-6 and listed as a center. Carter has 11 double-doubles this season and most recently had 29 points and 11 rebounds in a 65-64 loss at NJIT. Longwood comes into Wednesday’s game having lost three straight and possessing an 8-18 record on the season. The Lancers are 0-13 on the road … Read More »
Post Game Report –Excuse the Lighting
27 Assists, 7 Turnovers, 9 steals—–This is what PeShon triggered today. The Terrapins though playing a weak Demon Deacon team, looked better then they have all year. PeShon brings a toughness to this team that resonated throughout the team. Passing was better, better 3 oint looks, better effort across the board. You had a ense the game was in PeShon’s hands as … Read More »
