Sam made a verbal commitment to Coach Turgeon Sunday night according to terrapin times.com

His high school Coach and his Baltimore mentor Carlton Carrington both spoke of his verbal to the Terps.

His Dad Sam Cassell apparently wants him to continue his search before he signs his LOI. 

Hopefully Sam Jr will be a Terp!!!!

I believe so. So far in one year of recruiting, Coach Turgeon has addressed all of the needs of the Terps except one.  that of course is the point guard position. Let’s look at next year. The younger Cassell is starting to assert himself more on the offensive end shooting the ball off a jab and taking advantage of his 6’2, lengthy frame to post up smaller guards like his dad did for so long.
