Sam Cassell Jr., a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Baltimore, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at the University of Maryland, head coach Mark Turgeon announced Monday. Cassell, who played this season at Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Mass., is the fifth player to sign a NLI with Maryland during the 2011-12 recruiting season. He is listed as a three-star recruit by ESPN.com and Scout.com, with Rivals.com ranking him as the 34th-best shooting guard in the nation. He announced … Read More »
The above quote was from an article in the Sunpapers Sunday morning. The wait is over–Sam listened to his father –checked out Pitt and South Florida but wisely chose to bring his talents to College Park. Let there be no doubt, Sam is a tremendous addition to the 2012 recruiting class. he is a dead eye shooter who certainly will be in the point gourd mix. Just think of the depth in the guard position now for the Terps. Stogs, … Read More »
I hope he comes to Maryland. Enough said.
Great news for the Terps as Coach Turgeon and his staff have received a verbal from the rising combo guard. My guess would be that Turgeon is bringing in Sam as a point guard. What an outside shot he has. Like father like son!!!!
For the purposes of this article, I will for a few minutes become the biggest Coach Calipari fan in the country. I would love to see Ted Leonsis hire him. What a great addition he would be for the Wizards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hmmmmmmmmm
Everywhere I go in Bmore and College park, I get asked 2 questions. Are we going to land Jr (Sam Cassell Jr). ARE THE HARRISON TWINS COLLEGE PARK BOUND. Let Cal leave Kentucky and the odds skyrocket. Root for Kentucky … Read More »
And I couldn’t be happier. As I have said many times just look at the bloodlines. Jr is a dead eye jump shooter just like his dad. His stock risen greatly most recently and my guess is so has the interest from Maryland. He is a natural for a Turgeon team. Terrapintimes.com reported today that the staff has made great strides in wooing the sharpshooter. Adding Jr and Charles Mitchell could very well elevate this recruiting class into a Top … Read More »
Certainly Midnight Madness caps off a special night at College Park Friday night. Let’s list what recruits will attend:
Kam Williams, John Crosby, and Rashard Todd—all from Baltimore will be in the house.
Sam Cassell Jr will be taking his official visit this weekend. I really like Sam’s jumpshot. His bloodlines should run true. Maybe he will be the 4th 2012 commit. Seth Allen, already a 2012 verbal will be at the game.
DC Assault’s Rajay Bullock a 6’7 Junior … Read More »
PINCH ME!!!! Was that the Wizards I was watching? I know it’s early but the trade for Mike Miller and Randy Foye is looking better and better. Ernie Grunfeld has performed brilliantly:
The hire of Flip Saunders brings energy and a new look team and the word team is emphasized.
The trade and Oberto has given this team depth it has not had in recent memory. Remember Antawn did not play tonight.
I forgot how great Gilbert can be.

According to multiple sources Greivis Vasquez more then held his own during a brief tryout with the Wizards. For more info about the tryout, check out the article by Jeff Barker in today’s Sun. Greivis again stated his preference not to play in Europe. When asked about what position would be right for Greivis he responded “I’m a point guard; that’s another thing that I want to make it clear,” Vasquez said. “I’m not a shooting guard. I’m a combo … Read More »
As Chris Bosh swished his 3 point shot with 9 seconds to go after another Wizard collapse, I breathed a sigh of relief. The Wizards needs to lose to the Celtics on Wednesday and hope the Cliipers win at home against the Thunder. This sequence of events would put the Bullets in 2nd position (19%) to land Blake Griffin. Following up last night’s report, despite denials from the Wizards PR dept, Flip Saunders has been offered a 4 year 19 … Read More »
