I know Artest is a great defenseman. I Know he carried the Rockets on his back. But adding a time bomb like Artest to a Championship team? WHY? What is Jackson thinking. Trevor Ariza was a key ingredient to the title run and now he is gone. Apparently its all about salary cap problems.Good luck repeating, Kobe. By the way with all the free agent signings in the NBA, do you notice you never hear the name of the Wizards … Read More »
Well I called this one right, Lakers in 5 and game 5 was never in doubt after the 1st quarter. Kobe just weaved the game throughout the entire team and was truly deserving of the Playoff MVP award he won. This is the 10th Title for Phil Jackson placing him one ahead of the late Red Auerbach. The win also was some exoneration for Mitch Kupchak the GM who traded Caron Butler for Kwame Brown. I guess next time when … Read More »
5th games when 1 team is up 3-1 usually go the blow out rout and not necessarily by the team trying to clinch. The Lakers could conceivably come out flat knowing the next 2 games are at home. On the other hand how much will the choke job by Van Gundy and the Magic affect the Orlando squad. My speculation is that Orlando might bolt out to a quick lead but wilter again. The Magic is a much better and deeper team with its PG in the lineup. He seems to be making progress but this could just be a Van Gundy ploy to disrupt the Lakers preparation for the title series. Dwight Howard to be on a mission but Kobe is Kobe and the Lakers win easily in 6. The Lakers will need to be better guarding the 3, therefore I doubt we will see extensive doubleteaming of Superman.
Early in the first half, Carmelo was being shut down and the Nuggets were getting blown away by theLakers, when Linas Kleiza was inserted into the lineup. He nailed 3 threes and brought Denver back into the game. Carmelo Anthony again was superb scoring 34 and adding a tremendous physical presence to the Denver lineup. Next game Saturday Night at 8:30 from Denver.
The Score is 101-99 Lakers, Denver ball and who does George Karl allow to throw the ball in 6’2 Anthony Carter. Phil Jackson puts Lamar Odum on him and sure enough Carter throws the ball away and that was that. Melo was incredible 39 points with 14-20 from the field. Of course Kobe got every call and scored 40. Carmelo actually is too big for Kobe to guard. What a series this will be.
