Okay our great city and my great University have suffered some horrendous losses in my lifetime. But this one might have been the worst. Jim Harbaugh, 20 months the Junior to John has not stopped complaing about the the 3 time zones the 49ers have to travel to play the Ravens this week. Does he need an excuse when the Ravens roll over San Fran? I guess we will see just good the guy (Alex Smith) who played behind Shaun Hill really is. 9-1 in the NFC, the Steelers and the Ravens coming up—bet against 15-1. Only Vernon Davis and Patrick Willis scare me.
Very few NFL games are never in doubt. This was one of them. My observations:
The 2 Maryland guys had stellar performances today. Foxworth intercepted Brady Quinn early and set the Ravens’ first TD. Jared Gaither had 2 key blocks that opened the way for Willis McGahee’s 2 TDs.
#5 continues to be real steady. Judgement day for Joe and the offense occurs next Sunday at Foxboro.

Vernon Davis obviously has righted the bad start he had with Mike Singletary. Vernon remains the toughest receiver to bring down (next to John Mackey) that I have ever seen.
