Okay our great city and my great University have suffered some horrendous losses in my lifetime. Ravens, Uncategorized

Jim Harbaugh, 20 months the Junior to John has not stopped complaing about the the 3 time zones the 49ers have to travel to play the Ravens this week. Does he need an excuse when the Ravens roll over San Fran? I guess we will see just good the guy (Alex Smith) who played behind Shaun Hill really is. 9-1 in the NFC, the Steelers and the Ravens coming up—bet against 15-1. Only Vernon Davis and Patrick Willis scare me.

Ravens

Very few NFL games are never in doubt. This was one of them.  My observations:

The 2 Maryland guys had stellar performances today. Foxworth intercepted Brady Quinn early and set the Ravens’ first TD. Jared Gaither had 2 key blocks that opened the way for Willis McGahee’s 2 TDs.

#5 continues to be real steady. Judgement day for Joe and the offense occurs next Sunday at Foxboro.

Ravens

Vernon Davis obviously has righted the bad start he had with Mike Singletary. Vernon remains the toughest receiver to bring down (next to John Mackey) that I have ever seen.

Maryland Football

I always have mixed emotions when an ex- Terrapin star comes to town to face the O’s or Ravens. When Stevie Francis was with the Knicks how could one ever root against him when NY played the Wizards. Root against Steve Blake, Juan Dixon, Shawne Merriman, Shaun Hill, Vernon Davis, Darrius Heyward Bey, Chris Wilcox?—-NEVER.
