Coach Turgeon –Post Game

COACH TURGEON: Obviously, we did a lot of great things offensively tonight. First of all, we followed the game plan, played inside out. I knew they were going to double us. Our posts played with great poise, Diamond and Robert. Then we made shots. So we executed well. Shared the ball. 20 assists. Had 14 at halftime on 20 buckets. So we did some things well. We rebounded better for us. At times, we guarded well. But it was a great win for us. We did a lot of nice things tonight. 97 points and did a lot of great things against a team that is really good defensively. And they’re a hard matchup for us. I know last night when you’re sitting there watching the game, Wisconsin we match up a little bit better with and Nebraska is hard for us. So you have to give have them credit. They never stopped playing. They played hard. They made had a lot of shots and made it interesting at the end. But I’m proud of my group.

offensively md played great albeit against a team who didn’t play any defense until late in the game. terps had 20 assists and made shot after shot inside and out. for most of the game i thought the golden st warriors were wearing the terps uniform. excellent passing…layman on fire, melo playing his best ball in 6 weeks, stone a force down low and the rest of the guys chipping in with shots and assists.

what bruce somehow missed was that had it not been for a bad call on a “foul” against nebraska with around a minute to go the cornhuskers would have had the ball down by 6 with a chance to make it a one possession game. dodd made one of two and layman back tapped the errant second shot and the terps maintained possession.

terps didn’t play much d throughout the night and should have won this game by 20. they really didn’t show a killer instinct last night and almost let this game get away. how in the world did they let a below average nebraska team playing it’s third game in 3 days back in the game?

but’s it’s a win and now they go up against a really good michigan st team. can the terps stay hot and can the terps play defense?

I give the offense of the Terps an “A” last night. A “C” for their defense. A “D” for the intangibles. That is rebounding, blocking out, too many balls knocked out of their hands, and pure lack of hustle on defense.
