3 Star WR Commits to Terps

A post by Jordan

Another piece for the 2018 class falls into place as receiver Dontay Demus Jr. has committed to Maryland football. Demus is a local kid from Friendship Academy (DC) and another addition to the “DMV to UMD” push spearhead by defensive backs coach Aazaar Abdul-Rahim. The most notable thing about Demus is his size, the young wideout is a towering 6’4 and weighs in at 205 pounds. Demus has decent speed for his size, running a 4.58, for comparisons sake, fellow 6’4 receiver AJ Green runs a 4.48.

The Terps beat out many prominent schools for Demus including Virginia Tech and Big Ten rivals Michigan State and Wisconsin. With the addition of Demus the DMV to UMD movement is continuing to solidify, it wasn’t long ago that DC talents were flooding Blacksburg and Happy Valley. Additions like Demus also further validate Abdul-Rahim’s talent for recruiting the DC area, athough it’s worth noting that he founded the Friendship Academy football team. Maryland is now ranked 26 in Scout’s 2018 class rankings.
