Officials said on the night of October 31st, 2017, the victim and her friends went to Terrapin’s Turf Bar in College Park to celebrate Halloween ,where she met Dodd for the first time, according to prosecutors. Dodd bought the women alcoholic drinks and later left the bar with the women and went back to her friend’s, apartment prosecutors stated that’s when Dodd had sexual intercourse with the women against her will.
The victim reported it five days later and Dodd admitted to the sexual acts, but stated it was consensual, according to officials.
“The fact that the victim in this case was intoxicated did not give Mr. Dodd the right to take advantage of her,” Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks said. “We will conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that he is held accountable for his actions.”
A warrant was issued for Dodd’s arrest upon him coming back from a international trip Dodd was taken into custody in Atlanta. Dodd will have a hearing on the charges for second-degree rape, as well as second-degree assault July 12th.
