Gilchrist Commits to USF—O’s Sunday Woes Continue–Tiger, Rocco In Playoff Monday–Lakers Win to Fight Another Day

Fathers Day 2008—-Gus Gilchrist is going to South Florida, thus ending a bizarre turn of events that leaves the Terps without the young phenom and not really understanding why.  His eligibilty at USF remains to be answered but at this point who cares.  Meanwhile the Terps anxiously await the final answer on Sean Mosley as his test scores are due within 7 days.

The O’s come from behind attempt fell short as the Pirates salvaged the last game of the series, despite a 2 out 2 run HR from BRob in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game.  The pitching is beginning to give me a queasy feeling. Up next, the return of Miquel Tejada to Camden Yards, as the Houston Astros are in town.

For 2 nights all golf fans were mesmerized by Tigers gallant performance culminating in his tying putt on the 18th hole at Torrey Pines. The playoff begins at noon EST which is another ridiculous move by NBC that will exclude the work force of the country from watching.  There is no way Rocco can stay with Tiger heads up.

Can the Lakers buck history and go into Boston and win 2 games to become the NBA champions.  Not if Paul Pierce scores 38 and Perkins and Rondo are back in the lineup.  Maybe the Lakers can bail me out.  Gasol and Odum finally had a playoff worthy game on Sunday night as the Lakers hung on to a 5 point win.  Remember this Laker team lost 3 games to the Wizards and held on for dear life to beat Atlanta.  I am still not sold on this team but nonetheless the defense devised by coach Doc Rivers has totally frustrated Kobe.
