Gary Continues Pursuit of 2010 Recruits All Over the Country

In the past 7 days Coach Williams has been in Las Vegas, Florida, Arizona, and now California in pursuit of those few extra guys to make 2010 a really special year. Terrell Stoglin’s game has captured the entire basketball world and his love for Maryland should make every Terrapin fan ecstatic. The following is from terrapintimes.com:(Stoglin is talking about Terrapin Target  6’9″ James Johnson from California)

“Always. Always,” Stoglin said of his pitch to Johnson, who has UM in his top five. “Every time we are in the hotel room, anytime we are talking, I am always telling him he’s got to be a Terp. I want to play with him because he is a good player and I respect him. He is a very good player, so it’s good to have him on my team.
“And he tells me he’s thinking about it.”

More importantly, Stoglin was beaming about becoming a Terp. When he was approached by a Maryland writer, after Gary Williams and Rob Ehsan watched his first game, his face lit up.  “‘Coach G,’ I see him over there, oh yeah that’s great,” he said of Williams. “I am very happy. I feel it is the best situation for me, and I am not looking anywhere else,” said the solid 6-1, 185-pounder.

Stoglin had seven assists by the half, and that was in just 7 minutes of play, as he saw the floor beautifully, got the ball to his teammates in scoring position, and let the game come to him/didn’t force anything. He is physical enough to take the bump, and got great spacing for his teammates, who he delivered the ball to. He had just one turnover, on a fast-break situation.
