Maryland junior linebacker Alex Wujciak was named to the watch list for the Chuck Bednarik Award, which honors the top defensive player in the country. Wujciak was one of 55 players, including seven from the Atlantic Coast Conference, on the list, which was announced Thursday by the Maxwell Football Club. Wujciak was also an All-ACC selection last season, earning second-team honors after posting 133 tackles, including double-digit stops in eight games. He ranked 13th nationally in tackles (10.2 per game) and was also a consensus preseason all-league selection this summer.
