JUST WIN BABY!!!! Terps 38 James Madison 35 in Overtime

Nick Ferrara booted a 26 yard field goal capping a 4th quarter comeback and leading the Terps to victory. James Madison moved the ball on the groundFerrara at will against the Terps until the final drives of the game. QB1 Chris Turner through quickly with a one step drop as I predicted would happen. The pass rush never had a chance to materialize as Maryland threw at least 10 flanker screens. But the star of the day was Torrie Smith who accumulated 227 all purpose yards including a kickoff return for a TD, a 8 yard end around run for a TD and 8 catches for 80 yards. The Terps were forced to convert a 4th and 4 pass to Ronnie Tyler to prevent defeat in regulation. So the Terps are now 1-1 with a revenge game coming up next Saturday against Middle Tenn State at 3:30.

The score may say that Maryland won the game but the Terps were out-coached, out-played and out-hustled by Madison. Maryland’s aggressive, confusing defense now has given up 87 points in 2 games. Princeton’s basketball team doesn’t give up 87 points in 2 games. Dolly Madison had more total yards and more rushing yards than the Terps. Another poor performance by the Red and White.

And there never should have to be a “revenge” game against a team like Mid. Tn. St. who will give the Terps a tough game because the know they can beat Maryland. Maryland has never really replaced Blackney and Taaffe as assistants.
