Terps Win 24-21!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1-0 in ACC—Chris Turner Returns to Form

Some observations of a strange but exciting victory:

Scott McBrien said it best in pre-game: it’s time for Chris Turner to put the team on his shoulders and march to victory. Chris did just that. He engineered 2 great drives in the 2nd quarter when the Terps took command of the game.

After LT Bruce Campbell left the game the offensive line fell apart. 98 and 99 for Clemson were literally in the offensive backfiekd within a split second of the snap. Why did we not employ the shotgun. Ralph admiited after the game that going for it on 4th and 1 was a mistake–that he was talked into it. Let’s not beat this one to death.

Nick Ferrara gets an A+ for his effort today. His punts in the 1st half kept the Terps in the game.

Clemson’s play calling in the last 3 drives was ridiculous.Dabo settled for 3 long FG attempts. I am sure he is hearing about it from the Clemson faithful.

CJ Spiller will be a stud at the next level.

Clemson travels great. There had to be 5000 or more Tiger fans at the game.

What an improvement the defense has made–Hartsfeld, Wujciak, Tate, all had super games today.

Big wins for ACC as Miami defeated Oklahoma and G Tech defeated Miss State. Carolina gets thumped by UVA? What ? Duke gives V Tech a real Battle? What?

We all have to feel great for the players and coaches as they have never given up.

Wake on the road next week on ESPN 360.

A WIN IS ALWAYS GOOD. RALPH SHOULD TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE HORRIBLE 4TH AND ONE CALL AND HE HAS NO BUSINESS SAYING HE GOT TALKED INTO IT. IT’S LIKE SAYING WELL, IT’S NOT REALLY MY FAULT. BE A MAN RALPH. IT WAS A SLOPPY GAME AND LOOKED LIKE NEITHER TEAM WANTED TO WIN IT. MARYLAND HAD NO CHOICE IN THE END TO WIN IT BECAUSE THE CLOCK RAN OUT WITH THE TERPS IN THE LEAD. CAN’T WAIT TO WATCH NEXT WEEK’S GAME ON THE COMPUTER. IT’S SO 21ST CENTURY.
