Freddy Weighs in on—- Why Maryland Can Beat Villanova

Maryland size wise matches up against Nova.  The Wildcat’s guards are Scottie Reynolds 6’2″, Corey Fisher 6’1″ and Corey Stokes 6’5″.  They have a freshman g 6-1 Maalik Wayns and freshman g Dominic Cheek who is 6-6.  Upfront freshman Isaiah Armwood is 6-7, Antonio Pena is about 6-8 and he’s their best rebounder, Tylor King, a transfer from Duke is 6’6″ and Maurice Sutton is a freshman who is 6-11.  In general Maryland’s guards are bigger though Nova’s guards are much quicker.  The Terps need to control the boards to stop their running and run a discipline half court where in the flex we can get a lot of shots on that curl toward to middle of the lane with our guards using their height to go over their guards.  We can run at times but I don’t think you want to get into a track meet with Nova.  And I don’t think pressing them will work well.
