Terp Talk Readers Add Top Events Missed in My List

Just for the record, I could have filled the entire list with big basketball moments. Here are some that could have been on the list:

2001-2002 Season—Steve Blake steals the ball fromJayson Williams and goes in for a layup as the half ends, as Terps manhandle the Devils at Cole.  (from Avi and Greg)

2003 Season—Drew Nicholas hit a running jumper from 25 feet as the clock runs out giving the Terps a 1st round NCAA Victory over UNCC Wilmington. (fron Greg)

2004 Season—John Gilchrist hit a 3 point play tieing Duke at 77, in the ACC Championship game against Duke. Maryland went on to win in Overtime.

2006 Season—Little used Dave Neal comes off the bench to nail 2 crucial free throws as Maryland fends off Stephon Curry and Davidson in Round one of the NCAAs in Buffalo.

2002 Season– Steve Blake hits a 3 to seal the win over UConn and send Maryland to its 2nd straight Final Four.Remember UConn had Caron Butler, Ben Gordon and Omeka Okofor on that team. (From Bill)

2009 Season—Greivis hits a long distance 3 to put the Terps in cruise control over a heavily favored Cal Bear team in the 1st round of the NCAA playofffs.

2001 Season–Lonnie Baxter thoroughly dominates a much taller Stanford frontline as Maryland wins easily and goes to the Final Four in Minnesota.

    Jim O’Brien’s last second 15 footer to beat 2nd ranked South Carolina in the stall game. I know it was 1970, but what the heck. Happy Health New Year to everyone!
