Observations of a Great Terrapin Victory—88-64 Over The Wolfpack

I asked Gary in the post game press conference was it a better offensive or defensive performance. His response was aggressive d usually leads to aggresive offense. This was a very strong  home game against a quality opponent.  The Terrapins dominated from wire to wire. Just about every scrum went their way but what stands out in this game was the unselfish, near flawless performsnce of Greivis.  19 points on 11 shots, 5 assists, tremendous help defense on Tracy Smith, and all this while being double teamed and trapped most of the game.

Dino Gregory is slowly getting back to a significant role on the team. As State was trying to creep back into the game, it was Dino who shut the door.

Sean Mosley keyed  the aggressive effort by driving to the hoop repeatedly and garnering 16 foul shots. Sean finished with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

Landon was Landon–18 points in a 7-11 shooting night–again very solid.

Cliff Tucker seems to be relishing his 6th man role, agains scoring double fiures (11) ina solid 17 minute performance.

Jordan Williams came ready to play tonight scoring 8 points early and dominating the boards inthe 1st half.

The Ravens hierarchy—Bishotti, Harbaugh, Cameron, and Mattison were all in attendance tonight and celebrated the victory with Gary on the court after the game.

The Terp are now 3-1 in conference play and await Miami on Tuesday night at Comcast.

I say it again—Parity has arrive in the ACC. The Senior leadership on this team combined with the superior game coaching of the Maestro, Gary Williams, should make this an excellent season but let’s continue to take the games 1 possession at a time!!!

the terps were very aggressive in defense right from the get go and never let up.. vasquez played his best game of the year. he let the game come to him. milbourne was the star because he set the tone early and his production led the way to a big lead. williams played well. md really doesn’t run many if any plays for him. just wait until next year. gary is great at developing big men that have some ability (dupree had no ability and i heard he flunked off towson). hayes only shot 1-4 but a solid floor game. mosley didn’t shoot well but had a great floor game. you can see the confidence tucker has and his game shows it. dino was active, plays hard. i still see padgett getting more minutes as the season progresses especially against bigger teams. 3rd straight blow-up. pretty pretty good.

I think the senior leadership gives this team a bit of a killer instinct. Teams from the past few seasons never really blew out quality teams – they’d build a lead and then relax. This team knows how to finish an opponent. Nice win.
