Painful!!! A great Opening Day Oriole crowd was sent home reeling with another inexplicable effort by Gonzo. The guy can’t throw strikes. It’s simple. But here’s the problem. The O’s had a stopper and unloaded him for a prospect. The Orioles took a position that they had no concerns with–the Closer and created a void on the team. Why? Would you trade Brian Roberts for a draft pick? The future is now. Oriole nation is sick of losing. The O’s should be 3-1 not 1-3. This problem has to be addressed now and fixed or else this season will end long before September 1. Take Gonzo out of the closer role until he gets better command of the strike zone or he will soon be ruined. Move Johnson back into the closer role. But do it now –one more blown save by Gonzo is unacceptable. Listen I have been screaming about the Sherrill trade since the day it was made and every baseball expert in town tells me I don’t know what I am talking about. That might be the case but I KNOW WHAT I AM SEEING!!!!
