Still Rockin in DC —Neil Young Plays On!!!

I journeyed over to DAR Constitution hall last night with a few of my fellow Neil Young devotees. Danny Matta from Great Seats got us some super last minute tickets, coming through like he always does.  Here’s my synopsis. The guy still has some great pipes. Opening up the show on accoustic guitar with Rust Never Sleeps, Tell Me Why, and then Helpless–he sounded as good as ever. At that point he launched into some heavy electric high vibrating, ear popping, solo rock music that had its moments. The highlight of the night was Neil on the  piano singing I Believe in You. Cortez was exceptional. Neil played for 90 minutes, as usual had very little to say, and did 1 encore–a song of which I did not know. As the fans yearned for more the lights came on and the show over. I definitely was left a little empty. That being said, it was the vintage Neil Young at his best. By the way the lines were 30 minutes long to buy a 4 oz glass of soda.  Must be nice!!!!!
