Comcast Center to Host First 2 Rounds Of Lady’s NCAA Basketball Tiurnament

It will be good for the NCAA to have 10,000 plus in attendance if Maryland is selected this this year. Some of the first round venues were virtually empty last year.

The NCAA has confirmed that the University of Maryland will be hosting the first and second rounds of the 2011 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament on Sunday, March 20 and Tuesday, March 22. Maryland was announced as an official host site in October.  Comcast Center has played host to first and second round games in 2008 and 2009 and three overall since the building’s opening in 2002. Maryland has been one of the most successful host sites each year, setting attendance records in both 2008 and 2009. (from umterps.com)
